## Spending Priority (The Order of Assets)
Your card account can hold multiple assets at once. When you make a purchase, the Based card automatically draws from your balances in a fixed sequence designed to protect your volatile assets and minimize fees.
| Order | Asset | Notes |
| ----- | ---------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **1** | **Stablecoins** (USDT, USDC, XSGD) | Spent first. No Smart Convert fee, no price volatility. |
| **2** | **SOL** | Spent next once stablecoins are exhausted. |
| **3** | **HYPE** ($HYPE token) | Spent after SOL. |
| **4** | **BASED** ($BASED token) | Spent last to preserve your $BASED position as long as possible. |
* **Automatic waterfall:** If your stablecoin balance is insufficient, the card automatically flows to the next asset in the order to complete the payment.
* **Partial draws:** A single transaction can pull from multiple balances. For example, on a $100 purchase where you hold $40 in stablecoins, the card uses that $40 fee-free and converts $60 worth of SOL (with the Smart Convert fee) to cover the rest.
* **Full transparency:** Transaction details in the Based app show exactly which balances were used and the conversion rates applied to each.

Card-account $BASED is a spending balance and is separate from **staked $BASED**. Spending from the card does not touch your staked position or affect your tier qualification.

## Price Locking
The conversion rate for non-stablecoins ($SOL, $HYPE, $BASED) is determined at the exact point of spend — not at the end of the day or billing cycle.
To guarantee fair, accurate market valuation in real time, Based uses a mixture of Chainlink price oracles and the Hyperliquid on-chain price, with the rate locked at the moment you swipe or tap.
